Baseline survey on inclusive education in the central and south parts of the Republic of Moldova was carried out by CIC SocioPolis at the request of SOIR Moldova, during July - December 2010. The survey targeted to support SOIR Moldova in their future strategic planning, based on the integration of disabled boys and girls in the existing educational institutions. The objectives of the research comprised:
(i) the analysis of the existent framework related to inclusive intervention (policies, normative acts, existent practices);
(ii) the evaluation of the need for inclusive education services (in kindergartens, primary or secondary schools) and for support services in the central and south parts of Moldova
(iii) the identification of social, economic and community barriers that do not allow disabled boys and girls to benefit from inclusive education;
(iv) the submission of recommendations for the development of a new comprehensive national system of Inclusive Education that will integrate all stakeholders interested in inclusive education.
